Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrival in Baghdad
Upon arrival at Baghdad International Airport, you’ll be greeted and assisted with a smooth pickup and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and take a moment to unwind before joining the rest of the team. The evening is yours to explore Baghdad at your own pace, discovering the vibrant energy and rich history of the city.
Day 2:
Explore Baghdad
Begin at the National Museum to explore Iraq's ancient artifacts. Then, head to Mutanabbi Street for its lively book markets, followed by a visit to the historic Abbasid Palace. Conclude at Shahbandar Teahouse, enjoying tea and local ambiance.
Day 3:
Samarra
Visit the iconic Great Mosque of Samarra, known for its spiral minaret, then explore the nearby Abu Dulaf Mosque, an impressive example of early Islamic architecture. Continue to the Ctesiphon Arch, an ancient marvel showcasing Sassanian engineering. Return to Baghdad for an overnight stay.
Day 4:
Babylon
Begin with a tour of Saddam's Palace, a monumental structure offering insight into Iraq's recent history. Visit the Ishtar Gate, a stunning relic from ancient Babylon, and explore the Al Ukhaider Fortress, an impressive example of early Islamic military architecture. Conclude your journey with a visit to the holy city of Karbala.
Day 5:
Nasiriyah
Start with a visit to the revered shrines in Najaf, then explore Wadi al-Salam Cemetery, one of the world’s largest and most historic burial sites. Continue to the ancient city of Kufa to see its significant mosques and historic sites. End the day with an overnight stay in Nasiriyah.
Day 6:
Garden of Eden
Begin with the ancient Ziggurat of Ur, a stunning relic of Sumerian civilization. Then, explore the Mesopotamian Marshes, home to unique ecosystems and vibrant local culture. Continue to Qurna, traditionally considered the meeting point of the Tigris and Euphrates. Finish with a visit to Adam’s Apple Tree, linked to local legends and history.
Day 7:
Explore Old Basra
Explore the historic Jewish Quarter, followed by a stroll through vibrant local markets. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Shat Al-Arab, taking in the river views and the surrounding landscapes. Conclude your trip with a transfer to the airport.

What if I am a solo traveler and book a shared room?
That’s absolutely not a problem! You will be paired with another like-minded solo traveler and share the room with him/her.
We try our best to pair travelers of the same gender but in the odd case you might have to share a room with a traveler of the opposite sex or in rare cases share a triple room

How does the booking process work?
Your spot will be secured as soon as we receive your deposit payment. This deposit is refundable up to 10 days after your booking but after that, we can not refund you the deposit. You will receive an invoice for the balance payment 9 weeks before the trip starts.

What if I want to arrive a bit earlier or leave later than the set trip dates?
If your time allows, you might want to enjoy a few more days in the country. If you want some activity recommendations, feel free to drop us a message. We’ll be happy to help. We can also assist you in booking your extra hotel nights if you need.

What is the minimum/maximum number of participants?
We do have a guarantee of departure for this trip.
And we take a maximum of 12 people + crew for each tour.

What about visa?
Citizens of the EU, UK, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Russia, China, South Korea, Japan, Australia & New Zealand can get visa on arrival. The visa cost is $75.
Other countries have to obtain visa before departure from their nearest Embassy.

Is it safe to travel to Iraq?
Today Iraq is safe for travelers and we keep a close eye on the country and get updates form our partners on the ground regularly.
We advise you to also do your own research. And you can always reach out to us if you have any questions.

What should I bring for this trip?
The essentials for this trip are: light but covering clothes, light sneaker, sun protection (hat, sunblock, glasses, scarf), a small backpack, and cash to pay for food and souvenirs.

How much cash should I bring on this trip?
It is not easy to find reliable ATMs in Iraq. We recommend bringing enough cash to pay for your food (lunches and dinners), to buy some souvenirs, or to give tips to the local team. The equivalent of 400 USD should be plenty enough (unless you plan to buy some more expensive souvenirs).
